Call of Duty: Black Ops is a first-person shooter with stealth and tactical play aspect that puts players in the role of a shadow soldier fighting in a variety of historically representative fictional Black Ops missions of the Cold War era. Created with the input of actual Black Ops soldiers from the time, the game mixes traditional Call of Duty tactical shooter gameplay with new gameplay options designed to expand the players' experience. Additional features include extensive multiplayer options, along with new vehicles and explosive new weapons. .caption { font-family: Verdana, Helvetica neue, Arial, serif; font-size: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-style: italic; } ul.indent { list-style: inside disc; text-indent: -15px; } table.callout { font-family: verdana; font-size: 11px; line-height: 1. 3em; } td.vgoverview { height: 125px; background: #9DC4D8 url(https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/G/01/electronics/detail-page/callout-bg.png) repeat-x; border-left: 1px...

  1. personally its not as addicting as MW2 was. but that could just be me.online gameplay: once you get into the online gaming part of it the game is fun. if you own a ps3 the game still has lag problems similar to MW2, but they aren’t as bad ((sometimes on MW2 it was so bad you would “lose control” of your guy and the controls were “overdramatic” (tap the joystick and you would lag to the opposite side of the map)). somedays i get a lot of dropped games (lost connection to host) and restarting the ps3 will help occasionally. if it doesn’t you are stuck playing something else till the servers aren’t as full. otherwise its ok, generally not as many nube tubers as MW2 had.single player: the single player is a b**** to beat on veteran (i was able to beat MW2 on veteran and unlocked all the trophies). this game is just hopeless as you will go through sections where hoards of enemies will just attack you (won’t lie eventually gave up and beat on recruit).zombies:fun. the only reason i actually bought this game. similar to the zombies of World at War except your characters talk which i find makes the game more hilarious and less “creepy”. some people though find the voices to be annoying and i believe they can be turned down/off but unsure since i haven’t tried.

  2. I’ll just come out and say it: to me it felt like this game was made just to make it just to make more money. It was fun at parts, funky at others (zombie-killing was a bit out there for co-op mode), and frankly difficult enough at parts to not be fun. It just felt like the creators knew they’d made just about a perfect FPS game in COD MW2 that they wanted to throw something out there to continue riding the wave of success.I give it two (for fun) and three (for overall) stars because it was a standard “ok” FPS game. I didn’t hate it, but it did not feel like it was at all worth the price. It felt like it was cheaply/quickly made to sell, which they succeeded in doing if one looks at the sales figures. I look at some of the positive reviews and wonder if people are just giving five stars out of some sense of loyalty to a franchise they love. I prefer honesty, which is why I gave the PS3 Medal of Honor game a lower score, even though I love that franchise.I won’t even go into a “why do they create video games with the primary purpose to be for online gamers???” rant. I tried it briefly and it was not fun. 16 year olds shouting racist things at 12 year olds, constant disconnecting from matches, unoriginal smallish maps, getting annihilated constantly by people who I guess do nothing else with their lives then play online gaming 24/7.To note: I did not have any problems at all with any OFFLINE aspects. There was no freezing, lagging, or anything else, it all worked fine. The plot had a good overall sort of loosely based on history feel, which I liked probably most about this game.Bottom-line: This game felt contrived and designed simply with the mindset of making money more than being actually fun. As with any future Medal of Honor games, because of how little this actually WAS fun I will wait a few months to purchase any future Call of Duty games until I read reviews. I would not pay more than $35 for this game.

  3. I wanted to review this game because I saw online that it had been met with some mixed reviews from consumers. The critics, on the other hand, generally liked it. I like it too.My favorite thing with modern video games is taking in the stories. This one did not disappoint. I really got into it. At times when I should have gone to bed, I stayed up playing to find out what was next. The characters are many but memorable. So… It’s not confusing even though you play as several different characters and in doing so are accompanied by several recurring others. The fact that the story unfolds through several pairs of eyes is really cool. I found that to be extremely compelling. As for the multiplayer stuff… Bravo! That’s a blast online or against bots. I frequently do that when I have 10 minutes to kill. The game has an esoteric array of weapons from the “Real World” and it’s in the multiplayer mode that you really get to try them all out. It really is great fun. The maps are awesome because they’re all quite different from each other and each one requires the player to make thoughtfull choices about his or her load out. In other words: a shotgun is better in one map, an SMG is better in another, and so on… Also, various types of sights will serve one better depending on the map as will other attachments. To be really effective you have to taylor your loadout. I’m not saying this is a new concept. It just seems to be implemented more elegantly in this game. There’s an additional CO OP game called “Zombies” that admittedly isn’t “my cup of tea”. But, what the heck? It’s there. Other people might like it. It’s nice that there’s even more to be had in this package that I would consider to be well worth the money even without additional content.I’m giving this game the highest rating because I think it’s really enjoyable on many levels. I admit that I’m not a very “Tough Customer” when It comes to stuff like this. But, I just can’t find anything I don’t like about it.
