  1. My husband, who knows a lot about computers (he used to work as a Cisco-certified network engineer), picked this computer to buy for me after he had done a lot of research and looked at a lot of other options, both from Dell and other brands. While I can’t really comment about specific tech aspects of the computer, I can tell you that he would not have bought this if it wasn’t a great computer. I am a freelance editor and work from my computer sometimes 60-70 hours a week — and then I use it for another 10-20 hours a week for personal reasons. I LOVE this computer. As I said, I may not know much about the inner workings, but I can tell you that this is my 4th or 5th computer in 10 years (I tend to wear them out quite quickly because I work so much), and this is BY FAR my favorite so far.I had always wanted a Dell because my father had a Dell laptop YEARS ago (back in the late 90s), and I loved his computer. However, it crashed after only a short time and, knowing more about computers now, I realize it was a pretty crappy computer. But that was also in the early days of laptops. But this computer proves just how far not only the laptop technologies have come, but also Dell in particular.THE SCREEN IS GORGEOUS. You will be surprised, I think, with how much difference the extra .3″ makes!! I have seen in a lot of reviews where people have talked about the glare-free feature being so great, and maybe I am just expecting too much, but there are times when I do see a glare, but even that is minimal.THE KEYBOARD IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE FEATURES. I work VERY late into the night/early morning (I worked until 5:30 this morning, for instance) quite often. When I do, my husband likes for me to do my work in the bedroom because I have epilepsy, and my seizure trigger is sleep deprivation. So, he worries that I will have a seizure, and he won’t hear me if he is sleeping, and I am in another room. But, that has always meant leaving a light on in the bedroom so I could see my keyboard (I never learned to type correctly, so I have to look at the keyboard to type), which always made me worry that he wouldn’t be able to sleep well. Scientific studies claim that people who don’t sleep in the dark struggle more with depression and a multitude of other health problems, and my husband already has PTSD. Studies have also indicated that people need ABSOLUTE darkness to achieve the most-beneficial sleep, and those who sleep with a light on don’t sleep as deeply, again contributing to various health problems and depression. Anyhow, back to this amazing keyboard … This keyboard has backlit keys — and not just lights UNDER the keys, which would help greatly by itself, but the light shines through the letters and symbols on the keys too!!! So now, when I have to work late into the night, I can do so in the dark without issue. SCORE!!All in all, I have had this computer for a few weeks now, and I could not be happier with it! I have not encountered any issues with it so far. Nothing is perfect, so I am sure at some point, I will most likely find something that annoys me. But, as of now, I have used this computer quite a bit in comparison to what I imagine is “normal usage,” and I have been THRILLED with every aspect! Great product!

  2. Like it fine. Dell quality is there, and for my purposes it is more than adequate. The only thing I don’t really care for is the new touchpad. Right and left clicking hurt for accuracy (not separate button but rather part of the touchpad) and sensitivity is not what I’m used to. Sure I’ll get used to it over time but seems unnecessary to change it. The weight is good for a computer of this size and the key clicks are nice. 4.5/5 really. Ships nicely.

  3. It was pretty fast when I first received it but I went ahead and upgraded the hard drive to an SSD drive and it got much faster. I put the old drive in a CD caddy enclosure and replaced the CD drive with it so I now have tons of storage and great speed. Very happy!

  4. A month later, a line appeared on the screen. I burn a led line. I am very disappointed.

  5. Overall, this is a great laptop. The screen is beautiful. The system is very responsive. The backlit keyboard is quite handy, and the laptop has more than enough RAM memory and hard drive storage to meet my present and future needs. The only negative I have run across is 1) the system is unusable for several minutes when you first “power on” due to an extended 100% hard drive writing period. And, 2) Dell support leaves a lot to be desired. Initial support people try to be helpful but seem very inexperienced when it comes to handling anything more than a very basic problem, and if you need “Senior” support – you have to pay extra.
