  1. This is a very small done that can easily fit in the palm of my hand. It isn’t big or powerful enough to do anything useful, so don’t expect to use it for anything other than as a toy.It is pretty easy to get into the air, but much harder to actual control and make it go where you want too. The biggest challenge is that the drone looses too much altitude while flying around (probably because it it under-powered). Then, there is too much lag on the throttle, making it difficult to maintain or recover altitude without massive over-correction. So, while flying it indoors, it is very easy to run it into the ceiling or the floor or into other things while trying to get it back into open air. Thankfully this is strong and light enough to take some abuse. Even after a few crash landings, there doesn’t appear to have been any real damage done to this drone, and it does come with replacement blades in case they do break. The included battery lasts 3-5 minutes or so and takes 20+ minutes to re-charge. So, to enjoy more flight time, extra batteries should be ordered. I purchased this 4 pack with a 4-slot charger: RCtown 4pcs 3.7V 150 mAH Lipo Battery with 4 in 1 Charger for JJRC H36 Eachine E010 NIHUI NH010. The controller takes 2 AA batteries, and seems to work fine with NI-MH rechargeable cells.

  2. One thing is certain about this tiny drone: It’s a lot of fun to fly. But there’s one caveat to that: It’s not fun at first if you’re a beginner. It’s like downhill skiing at first — you fall a lot and it’s painful, but you get flashes of the thrills the sport can bring. The RCtown mini drone is fast. You can get it flying so fast that you can’t think quickly enough to control it at first. But as you develop your skills, you’ll soon be maneuvering this little hotshot all over the place without incident. If only the left stick (that controls altitude and spin) were less touchy, it would be a lot easier. The slightest movement and it’s out of control. There are slightly bigger drones that automatically stabilize themselves, but not this one. It’s all-manual, all the time. That’s why only intermediate to advanced drone pilots will truly enjoy this challenging aircraft. I would recommend getting a more user-friendly drone that includes several degrees of difficulty in its feature set if you’re just starting out.It also doesn’t last nearly long enough. See if you can find spare batteries for this one because the fun is over in what feels like less than 5 minutes, and then you must wait about 24-40 minutes for the next round of thrills and spills. Besides those drawbacks, this is one fun toy, and if you can fly this touchy, angry little bird, you can fly anything.

  3. This is a cute and small mini drone. It is a great drone for beginners (and non-beginners) because there aren’t as many controls to deal with and the fact that the propellers have circular guards around them. To pair the drone with the remote control, you need to connect the battery of the drone and then switch on the remote control (you will see the lights on both the drone and remote control flash), next push the left lever of the remote control up and then down and you will hear two beeps (the lights will turn from flashing to solid on the drone and remote control) and you know they are now paired and you are ready to fly! Despite its size, the drone flies good and is pretty stable. While the circular guards do protect the propellers well, they are still made of plastic, so they can withstand some crashes. Only thing is those circular guards are part of the body frame of the drone so they cannot be removed if they are broken. The flight time of the battery in the drone is 5 minutes and charging time can be up to 50mins (red light on the USB cable goes off when the battery is fully charged). Hence it’s great that the battery can be taken out of its ‘basket’ pretty easily so one can buy spares to replace it. This way you can fly the drone for longer by replacing the batteries with one spare after another. The instructions that come with it are not bad with words and diagrams. Also included are a set of 4 extra propellers. Recommended age on the product box is 14+.

  4. Cute little drone. My 6 year old son LOVES airplanes, drones and helicopters. We ordered the red one for his birthday. He is already flying it no problem. Once you pair and calibrate it, it’s pretty easy to figure out the controls. I wish it had more flying time, but I specifically bought this drone for him because I saw you could buy extra batteries so I will be doing that. It seems pretty durable as it’s taken a few hard hits and nothing has broken. The controller is a tad on the small size, but this is for a 6 year old so it fits his hands perfectly.I took a picture of the drone and controller with my hand for reference so you can see how small it is. It’s prettly lightweight so flying it outside might not be ideal unless it is really calm out with no wind. For us, we just fly it inside since the fly time (5-7 mins) isn’t that long. One thing I would have to say to another beginner like myself…it’s a pretty quick little drone, so if you’re flying it for the first time, just ease into the controls. Once we got past that, it was pretty much smooth sailing. Hope this review helped! Please mark helpful if it did. I depend on reviews when I buy things so I tried to be as thorough as possible. Happy flying!
