The device arrived in good shape. I want to share with everyone my experience.. I happened to receive a MediaTek Helio X20 which took me by surprise. Not that the Helio X20 is bad performance, but there are other little changes that might bother you. For instance looking online info about both devices you will find that Snapdragon 625 Version has different LTE bands that works better with the US carriers. So you get Helio X20 you will probably stick with HSPA+ speeds… Other than that, this device its solid and well crafted, top notch performance for what you pay. 32GB storage, 3GB Ram, SD 625 or Helio X20… for 160+$

  2. All I can say is wow! This is phone offers amazing value for the price. I have wanted to get my hands on a Xiaomi phone for a while and they were finally available for a reasonable price. I have to admit I was a bit concerned with potential connectivity issues, but I have not had any noticeable issues using an AT&T MVNO.I intend on using a T-Mobile MVNO to test and see if I have any connectivity issues there too and I will update the review as needed.I will say, I have not had LTE speeds on the phone, but I knew that when I purchased the phone, but 3G and 4G have been consistent with the AT&T MVNO.The phone looks and feels more premium than the cost. The screen, which is only a 1080p LCD, has fooled several people in to thinking it was a 2K or 4K display. The display is very bright and the color dynamic is brilliant. The finger print scanner is fast and pretty accurate. I am still learning some of the features it has built in to it. I will admit I have not used the phone for gaming much, but others have discussed all of that pretty in depth. I have had people guess the phone at close to double the actual cost.I will say, I was skeptical about MIUI. I have been using Nova Launcher on all my phones for a while and have become very spoiled. However, I am finding myself liking MIUI. The customization ability is almost infinite and there are a lot of “official” themes and a lot of “unofficial” themes available. One thing I was very impressed with, was within 24 hours of booting up the phone, it updated to the latest version of the Global ROM (8.5.4.0), went from Android 6.0 to 7.0 and now has one of the more recent Android Security Patches (July 2017).There are a couple of features, I have not seen anyone discuss before, which I find interesting. First, there is a feature to “tune” your audio experience to whatever type of headphone you are wearing…and you can even assign the headphone button functions, if you so choose. Secondly, the LED notification light has customizable colors, at least on the SD variant, which is handy when I just want to glance at the phone. The only downsides I can really come up with, is there is no NFC (which I have never personally used) and the “extras” (case, screen protector, etc…) can be a bit difficult and even confusing to find and/or buy. There are apparently 3 different names, for the 2 different “platform” versions of the phone. There is a Redmi Note 4, which has the Helio X20 platform; the Redmi Note 4X, which has the Snapdragon 625 platform; and a Redmi Note 4, which also has the Snapdragon 625 platform. In very general terms, the Redmi Note 4X and the Redmi Note 4 SD variant are identical. At the top of the phone, the IR Blaster is in a different position from the Helio X20 variant (which is centered) and then at the charging port on the bottom, there are no screws on the 4X or the 4SD. As near as I can tell, as far as the extras go, if it is a RN4 with the SD platform then items designated for the RN4X will fit it just fine.If there are any changes I will be sure to update the review.

  3. I got this to replace a Xiaomi mi 4, its an upgrade in every way. I looked at other phones in the 200 and under range and this phone was the one I decided on. The Huawei honor 6x does not have the quality of this phone and feels like what it is, a mid range budget phone. The Motorola, Nokia, Samsung and Sony offerings in this segment we’re $50-75 more and offered less. There are other reviews saying they received the mediatek version but the one I got was the Qualcomm snapdragon chip, it is a south American market version. It comes with goggle services pre loaded and I can choose USA as my location. I’m on T-Mobile and have no problems connecting to 4g. The screen is as big as a iPhone 6+ but the over all size of the phone is a little smaller. The battery life is insane even with heavy usage/gaming. The Bluetooth range is as good as the mi 4, about 50ft unobstructed, 30ft if there are obstructions. The only negative I can see is the beveled glass screen, it makes the phone look nice but at the cost of increasing the chance of cracking if you drop it. It would have been a lot better with a flat screen. The user interface MIUI is also a bit bloated but it’s easy to use, I just wish they’d slim it down. It takes up a good chunk of the phones memory. Overall I’m very happy with this.

  4. Replaced my 16gb OnePlus One,, simply because I was tired of storage issues.I received the Snapdragon 625 version, and my US T-Mobile/MetroPCS service works like a charm. LTE always-on, never dropping to H+ in the same area my OPO does.Call quality is excellent, bluetooth pairs with anything I throw at it.It’s very snappy in comparison to the OPO so even performance warranted an upgrade. While I’m not big on a phone doing more than my essentials, it’s still nice to not have downgraded from a high end SoC from 2014.Feels and looks nice, where it’s got a heft and rigidity to it that belies the sub
