  1. Pros-Windows 10-Decent screen size-Very fast tablet compared to my android OS5 tablet-Replacement screens and battery are sold online-The mosepad works well-Well spaced keysCons-Bad battery life-I brought a used one, but the O,P, and L keys get stuck. Sadly because this is not a name-brand company I can’t find a replacement keyboard.-The USB power cord is VERY SHORT-The back of the screen, where the Insignia logo is located, gets very hot while charging.

  2. There are three reasons why I bought this. First, it is large enough and the specs good enough to function as a notebook replacement (cautionary note #1 later). Second, it has full-sized USB ports (cautionary note #2 later). Third, it was the lowest-priced device meeting requirements #1 and #2 that I could, in fact, obtain in person on very short notice by taking a trip to a nearby Best Buy store. If you’re sitting here shopping online and you’re okay with having a device that arrives in a couple business days, you probably have better choices.I’m not giving it one star because I’m not angry enough with it to return it, but I do have a significant list of flaws that lead me to recommend that others exercise caution before deciding to buy this device.#1: The touchpad is installed as a mouse. Importantly, this means that you can’t use normal touchpad setting tools in Windows 10 to turn off or adjust the touchpad gestures, lock the touchpad off while typing, or disable the touchpad when a real mouse is plugged in. I’ve disabled the touchpad entirely (I have lots of USB mice). You would think that with a problem like this, there would be a nice new driver on the Insignia website somewhere… this led to my discovery of flaw #3.#2: While it does have full-sized USB ports, which is absolutely necessary for any device that pretends to be functional as a laptop / notebook, the USB ports are (A) located in the detachable keyboard instead of being on the main device, and (B) are underpowered (don’t expect external hard drives to work unless you put them on a powered USB hub).#3: Lack of support from Insignia. If you go looking for drivers on the Insignia website right now, the only thing you’ll find is a community forum post where some helpful user has posted drivers on a shared Dropbox folder. I don’t know how long that’ll stay up. If anything goes wrong with your device drivers, you’re probably going to have a rough time fixing it.#4: As soon as this machine went through its first round of Windows updates, the wifi stopped working, so I had to roll back the updates. It is apparently commonplace for this to happen… at which point see #3.

  3. I got this laptop refurbished for $99 on amazon and it looks brand new and I love it. I had to update windows 10 to the latest update and it went just fine.Edit: Its been a week now and I love this laptop/tablet, it does what I need it to do. I have got a few games downloaded and they seem to work just fine.6 months later: 6-18-18The laptop/tablet is still working quite well. I’ve downloaded a few more programs since my original comment. If you’re interested in something that is good for online stuff such as YouTube and Facebook and maybe a few light games this device is for you.

  4. They squeezed a lot into a small package for a small price. I love the hardware. If you were never going to use it for writing anything, you might well love it. All of the problems appear to be more software than hardware related. It apparently must have come with two operating systems, since upon startup it would sometimes ask if I wanted to delete one of the two. I couldn’t usually even type in just a single sentence without the text input cursor jumping quite randomly to every possible place on the screen, with the result that multiple corrections were needed even just for making a brief comment such as this. Also, the quote marks and the at sign were switched somehow such that you would always get one when typing the other and vice-versa.

  5. I am a device junkie and had been looking for a windows PC that is compact and can also be used as a tablet because I love to have every platform I can and already have both android and iOS tablets and phones but not a windows one and I needed something for personal use as well as a portable PC that I can complete my work on outside the office. This was not my first 2in1 purchase, I had to return my nexbook because it was advertised as a windows 2in1 but I received an android version. So I decided on purchasing this item after reading the reviews and comparing it to the others available. I absolutely love this thing and I’m so thankful that I received the wrong nexbook and returned it because this one is so impressive that even my snobby web developer hubby and PC gamer son are both envious of my new PC/tablet and I never thought I’d see the day that they approved of any tech items I purchase without their input! I would give it 10 stars if I could just for that fact alone!
