  1. Very fast so far. I have only owned HP but the last HP only lasted 1 1/2 year and went through 2 Hard drives and finally died…Calling HP is pointless …Asus is so willing to help which is why I ended up going with them. So far I am loving this!

  2. The key to being happy with this laptop is to understand what you are buying. ASUS makes some high-end gaming laptops like the ROG that sell for over $2000. That is like buying a Telsa in the car world. If that is what you are looking for then by all means spend the money and enjoy it. But if you just need basic functions like web browsing, email and writing documents and you don’t want spend much money then this is a great deal. It’s kind of like buying a Ford Fiesta for your commute car because you just need something to get you to work and back. In my case, I needed an inexpensive laptop for my son and this is perfect. I have spend the day testing it out and am very impressed. I’m honestly stunned that you get this much for around $250. Right now we are all listening to Christmas music on Pandora in the living room. Earlier I was showing him Skype video messaging on the web cam which worked great. Window 10 boots up very quickly and the screen backgrounds are beautiful The laptop looks sleek and professional. The trackpad actually works better then my more expensive Thinkpad laptop. With 500GB hard drive he is never going to run out of space. In our case the WiFi works great so maybe we are just lucky there. So I think people who purchase this laptop for the right reasons will be happy. Just remember this is not a Tesla but then again you are paying about a tenth of the cost and from that perspective this is a great purchase.

  3. Like many others have stated, this computer is not as advertised. For me the issue was a slower processor than stated in the specs. The computer I received was a 1.6Ghz processor. The advertisement stated it was 1.6 – 2.4. When i checked the specs it clearly stated that i was buying the 2.4Ghz unit. Today I looked at the specs and it says its 4.6Ghz which is ridiculous. I guess they are trying to use the defense of “whoops, that was a mistake”. Its not a mistake, its fraud. The computer is slow and really only good for basic internet browsing, watching movies, office work. I wouldn’t buy this if your looking to upgrade unless your old computer is over 8 years old or running windows vista or an older operating system.

  4. Great computer and I would recommend it to any and everyone. I would have given it 5 stars, but the Windows 10 is the biggest issue with this product. I cant hold ASUS responsible, but fair warning, one of the updates will cause the computer to shut down and you have to reset the OS back to factory settings, and Microsoft is not a huge help on the problem

  5. My husband ordered 2 of these in January, both for the same purpose – access to the internet, basic use of office suite, nothing fancy. Price point and functionality for what we needed looked good. From the start, both had Wifi connection issues – connecting, getting kicked off, then unable to reconnect to the same connection I was just on, and so on. Having had other devices connected to the same signal, full strength, and both computers having the same issue, did lead me to conclude it was a problem with the computers. And, I see now that some of the other reviews indicate the same. The one we took to our store, though the spotty Wifi issues are super irritating, is otherwise working fine for our basic needs. The one we kept at home completely died at 4 months. The battery died and will not charge at all. We purchased a replacement charger, hoping that was the issue – it was not. When plugged in to either, the computer shows no indication of trying to charge. Other reviews indicate the same. So, I’m chalking this up to a ‘you get what you pay for’ scenario, though at the very least I would expect the cheapest of computers to 1. Hold a charge & 2. Connect to the internet – but I digress. I’ve had better experience with laptops in the $400-$600 range such that I would definitely say this computer is not worth the couple hundred dollar savings. Still not sure whether I will go through the hassle of having the manufacturer reconcile this, as we are past our return window with Amazon.
