  1. I’ve had this for about a week. First, the good: low price, portable, surprisingly solid construction for a cheap laptop, flash storage makes it faster than a spinning hard drive. Keyboard feels *alright*. 64GB model has enough space for a few important programs, unlike the 32GB. Screen is also decent for this price range, and is a good bit larger than the 11″. Also, the screen flexes all the way down which is cool if not super useful. I do some basic work in MS Office and it has been fine with that. Now, the bad: trackpad is horrible. Although mine does have 2-finger scroll (it was very inconsistent when first setting it up), the overall trackpad is terrible. In Word, it zooms on its own, opens Cortana unprompted, etc.Speakers and mic are low quality, hard to hear Skype convos. This can be avoided with a $5 two way earbud. The web browsing experience can slow down on pages with lots of script (CNN, etc..). 2GB RAM ought to be enough to handle basic browsing, and you can load the page, but it is not especially crisp and fluid. It does get the job done though.Bottom line: this computer needs about $15 in accessories (wireless mouse, earbuds with a mic) to be a decent little PC for Word, web browsing, Skype, and email. If you can get it for a discount it is a good buy.

  2. A few months ago, I bought an 11″ Lenovo Ideapad 100s (the red one) and I also got an HP Steam around the same time. The HP Steam had comparable specs, and yet I strongly preferred the Lenovo, for a variety of reasons. So when I had a chance to buy THIS version of the 100s, I jumped at it. This computer’s got a bigger screen than the red one (it’s 14″ instead of 11″) but it’s just as portable and has twice as much storage space. One thing I really love about these Lenovos is the keyboard. I can’t quite put into words what I like about the keyboard so much. They keys are perfectly spaced and perfectly raised and it just feels natural. I’ve used many different keyboards in my life, so I know a perfect one when I feel it. This one’s perfect and it doesn’t feel cheap. I don’t know if every Lenovo laptop has a keyboard like this, but if they do, I’m going to be brand loyal for life. I’m a writer, so a great keyboard is a huge deal for me!I’ll be honest, this IS a “budget” computer. But as far as budget computers go, this is the best. You wouldn’t want to do any heavy gaming on this, but for Facebook games or Minecraft, it would be just fine. You also won’t be storing a ton of stuff on here, but a USB flash drive solves that problem. If all you really want to do is surf the internet and use word processing, this is perfect. It’s also super light and thin, so it’s great if you plan on traveling with it. It would also be perfect for a student.I’ve had several computers in my life, and this one is (perhaps surprisingly) a favorite.

  3. I am a college student and I wanted something small, light and portable, but yet something that does not break the bank. This computer will perform every day internet tasks along with word documents. I had no problem using this computer for my online classes. If you are looking for a gaming computer this one is not for you. But as a inexpensive college laptop that has a free one year subscription to office 365 it works well. If it breaks within a year I will just buy another one for 200 bucks.

  4. I was looking for a laptop to take on the road with me. I was not looking for a gaming laptop. I was looking for one to work on word documents and powerpoint presentation, check emails and video call to home. So far the IdeaPad 100s has met my exptations. Thin and lite plenty of battery life to make it through a day of presentations. The next test will be longevity. But then again at the price, if it lasts a couple of years I will be happy.

  5. Can barely run facebook or netflix. Frequently drops internet connection. I didn’t have high hopes, but I did expect a bare minimum. I shouldn’t be forced to look at new outlets on my phone because a computer, even if it is cheap, can’t load them effectively.
