  1. Easy mounting for my Dash Camera. I needed something to stick my dash cam to since my dashboard is not easy for things to stick to. This 3M Dashboard Pad mounted nice and tight to my dashboard providing a great base to mount my dash cam to.

I really hate to write bad reviews as I don’t wish to harm anyone’s business especially since it seems to have been a good purchase for most people. However, I do feel like I should leave this review as cautionary advice since it really DID NOT work for me. I had just recently purchase this product for my iOttie Easy One Touch 4 Dashboard Mount (Which is an AWESOME product BTW —–> http://a.co/0Sg5FBL) which arrived May 1, 2018. I have since removed it today. This would have been a great mount IF IT WORKED. First, let’s get some facts out of the way.1. I live in Las Vegas, and it is getting HOT2. I drive a 2015 Mercedes C250 Coupe (With Leather or Faux Leather Dash, not sure)The reason for my purchase is because I had to replace the original adhesive disc that came with iOttie. The original adhesive disc had to be replaced because I had placed it in a position that I DID NOT want it to be and DID NOT realize that once you placed the adhesive pad, you WILL NOT be able to move it and place it at a different position since it’s ONE TIME USE. So after, I went back online to Amazon to purchase another adhesive disc to replace the one from iOttie. I came across this product and and saw the great reviews didn’t think nothing of it.After installing the Dashboard Pad Mounting Disc,I noticed after a couple day or so, that the disc was peeling away from the adhesive while the adhesive was firmly sticking to the dash. Today, May 16th, 2018, I decided to fix the issue by Krazy Gluing the disc back on to the adhesive to see if that would fix the problem but I noticed that it was really coming apart. I decided to remove it entirely since the product came with a few spare disc and I was going to give it a fresh install. That was when I realized how bad this particular product was bad for my car.The adhesive completely came off the plastic disc BUT was sticking quite well to my dash. It took between 1-2 hours of carefully pulling and scraping the adhesive off my dash to completely remove it.Note for future purchasers – since it was super hard to remove, I tried a couple of method to get it off. I tried blow drying heat onto the adhesive, using soap and scrubbing sponge and then finally resorting to acetone, which has a possibility of damaging my dash since it’s not good to use acetone on leather to finally get the adhesive removed from my dash. Also, not sure if it left discoloration on my dash or not. That could just be the tan line from the sun.Once, it was finally removed, I decided to write this review as a warning for future purchasers. I really wanted to like this product as it’s serves a fairly simple function but it just did not work well for me. Please take a look at the pictures and watch the video to understand why I wrote this review.

  3. These dash mounting pads offer an excellent solution to mounting a suction cup type cell phone mount over placement onto a windshield. With a robust adhesive base, it should hold an average sized smartphone.Make sure to follow the instructions carefully, and clean the dashboard surface where you are going to mount it thoroughly. Do not try to install the pad onto a very hot dashboard that has been exposed to the sun, as it will not allow sufficient bonding since the heat radiating from the surface of the dash will still be emitting heat.Instead if possible do the placement early in the day or in an area where the vehicle has not been exposed to the sun.Recommended curing time is around three hours, but I would for the sake of ensuring that the pad adhesive has set sufficiently wait at least five hours before placement of the cellphone mounting device that you would be using since the suction cup will attach to it.

  4. Placed this on my dash, where it seems it’s expected to be used, and the dashboard pad separated from the 3M sticky pad in the heat. This is San Diego heat, not AZ or OK heat, so it’s not extreme. The 3M sticky pad didn’t come loose from the dash, the suction pad came loose from the sticky pad.It works well for suction cup mounts on surfaces where a suction cup might not attach well.

  5. After about a week of use, the first one had already started to peel off my the dashboard pad itself and then another week later it just fell. I guess that’s why they give you a three of. I’m already on my third one and plan on getting a different dashboard pad for my phone mount. When the first one finally peeled off, the sticky material was still on my dash while the pad fell off. I had to remove the sticky material myself which wasn’t a problem, but I’d rather buy a product that won’t split apart because what’s the point of buying a dashboard pad when the pad itself won’t even stick to the sticky material that supposed to keep it in place.
