  1. I am a non-professional photographer — I love taking pictures of my children — and this camera does everything I need it to (and more).I received this camera for Christmas to replace my Nikon D70 (which is quite old…but quite reliable), and was happy with the price (which included 2 lenses).Overall, a solid DSLR camera for non-professional photographers.

  2. Love it. A suggestion, If you are not planning to use a tripod when using the 200mm lens, be sure to upgrade to the VR. I do use a tripod or mono-pod and the picture quality is great at 200mm. I am still learning all that this unit offers. I purchased and installed a 64GB SD card and it is working great. I like to shoot videos and with the 64GB I don’t worry about running out of space. The video quality is good. The battery has worked well it lasts for a couple of days worth of shooting and videoing. I did purchase a back up battery and fast charger. The batteries both have good shelf life as well as in service life. The camera is well traveled and has been to several different countries. The camera has been through x-ray machines at airports and customs and has indicated that these devices are not a threat to it. I’ve not had any corruption of the pictures or videos. Purchase a lens filter to protect the lens face and always use your lens cap.

  3. The standard 35mm lens for this camera is known for having problems and ceased working less than 3 months after purchase, the flash rarely works, and the camera usually tells me that my 55mm lens is “not attached” when I haven’t removed it in over a year (since the 35 mm lens doesn’t work). I am beyond disappointed in this camera. I’m going back to Canon and doing more exhaustive research before buying my new camera.

  4. I bought this camera a couple years ago to take some pictures of my kids’ sporting events. The several modes make the camera as simple to use as point-and-shoot. The two lenses work fine and with the high mega pixel, I’m able to crop a photo for more extreme close ups with great clarity. The built in wifi is great for sending pics to my phone for fast sharing on social media or by text. As others have said, that feature is a bit frustrating but if you do it away from any other wifi, it seems to go smoother. A ton of value for the price.

  5. I got this kit to get started in digital photography, and it took me a while to learn to use it, but after I mastered it, nothing could hold me back. This budget-friendly camera out-performs many more expensive cameras and is capable of doing more than any beginner or amatuer is trying to do.
