  1. I love the quality of this laptop. There are a few sticky issues, like installing certain audio/video drivers, etc, but that’s easily done in under 20 minutes. The gaming quality us awesome. I ran vanilla Fallout 4 at about 70fps right out of the box, so I’m greatly satisfied. If you plan on doing any hardcore gaming on the fly ALWAYS bring the charging cable/psu with it. The 1060 requires a lot of power and the laptop may flicker if you try to run anything that’s too heavy. I love this buy; I will update as time goes on!

  2. VoodooPC was a botique PC builder founded in 1991 and was subsequently bought out by HP on 2006. The new 2016 HP Omen features the same tribal mask logo used by Voodoo, and it also does an excellent job carrying on the legacy of Voodoo. This laptop is literally a STEAL for the price as it features a 4k screen and a 1070 GTX graphics card. Similar spec laptops will easily run you $2000+, heck a guy I know spent $2800 on a laptop by Origin (Was founded by Alienware people upset by the Dell acquisition) with the exact same specs! The build quality is decent, it features a plastic carbon fibre body that is well built. The trackpad in my honest opinion is the only major downside of this laptop, however I use a mouse so I don’t really consider this a major problem. The keyboard features chicklet style keys that are illuminated red which gives a premium feel and look. One thing I was skeptical about were the thermals of this laptop, however to my surprise this laptop runs much cooler than its competition, HP definitely invested in quality thermals for the CPU and GPU. I was able to run all my games on Steam at 4k res with 60 FPS with no throttling or any issues to speak of.Overall this laptop is easily a hidden gem, and well worth your money.

  3. This is an amazing laptop. An 8GB video card! It’s a powerhouse. The fans are audible when gaming, but it’s not that bad knowing the amount of work the cards are doing. I looked at MSI, ASUS, Acer, Alienware, etc. The ASUS ROG was the only runner-up, but I’m so happy with this HP. The laptop looks great. I thought the 4K screen would be overkill, but it looks amazing. Gaming is very smooth. The speakers are amazing–almost surround sound (on a laptop!). I typically cannot have the volume all the way up. It’s so fast with the NVMe SSD. My only minor complaint is the touchpad. I hate when the mouse buttons are not separated and pressing on the edges of the touchpad act as buttons. The company CUK (Computer Upgrade King) does a fantastic job opening up the computer and doing customizations with no trace. Their customer service is also quite good: there was a mistake in the listing when I bought mine and we came to a resolution very quickly.

  4. Loved it until screen started getting splotchy I bought it to use for photo editing on trips

  5. I’ve only had the laptop for a couple weeks, but I’m already in love with it. I was looking for an overpowered laptop I could use for graphic design and a bit of gaming. It runs Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign at the same time with no hangups at all. I couldn’t even have two programs open at once on the computer I replaced.I’ve been so busy with work that I have only been able to test out some games for a couple hours. I tried playing Stellaris and Civ VI. Both ran very well on ultra settings. The computer did get warm, but not uncomfortably hot.One thing I have to point out is the sound quality. I don’t pay much attention to laptop speakers because I typically use headphones. However, the speakers on this are the best I’ve heard on a laptop. They’re loud and clear. I don’t mind showing off YouTube videos to the family because no one has to strain to hear. All in all, I’m very happy with my purchase. I’m glad I decided to go with a CUK upgraded model. It makes a HUGE difference!
